Kim Novicky: Basic Horsemanship Instructor
Kim graduated from Scottsdale Community College with an Associates Degree in Equine Science. Her areas of concentration include Teaching Techniques and Barn Management. Kim joined Fox Mask Farm of Gilbert in the spring of 2004 as the basic horsemanship instructor of both Western and English disciplines. Her philosophy includes a positive approach to instruction teaching the students to become well-rounded equestrians with an emphasis on foundational skills, safety, and a working knowledge of the horse. Students range from 9 years of age through adult. Young students are encouraged to achieve levels of competency through a goal and reward oriented program.Kim grew up on the plains of North Dakota and as a young child, lived with her grandfather on a farm, who was not only a farmer, but a veterinarian as well. "Although I never had any formal instruction as a child, I never lost the love for horses and always desired to become a skilled rider. It’s never too late to fulfill your dreams. As an adult, I managed a construction company and put in 60-70 hours/week. Now I get to do what I have always wanted to do and enjoy my job and all the wonderful people I’ve been blessed to meet through it."
